Before you begin
Bloxmith runs on your machine and opens in your browser. The studio source code is available to view on GitHub and remains subject to the Bloxmith license; individual blocks are open source.
Installing from source requires Python 3.12 or later and Git. Obtain the official source code and review the license terms before use. External tools are only required for blocks that use them.
Set up the environment
From the source directory, create a Python environment and install the dependencies. These commands use a Linux or macOS terminal; on Windows, activate the environment with .venv\Scripts\Activate.ps1 in PowerShell.
python3 -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate
python -m pip install -e .
Start the studio
Keep this terminal open during your session, then open http://127.0.0.1:8765/ in your browser.
python main.py
Create your first project
The workspace home page lists your projects. Click New project, give it a name, and select an existing working directory on your machine. Open the project to create your first blueprint.
The user/ directory contains your local data. Keep it when you update the studio. Stop the studio before making a complete backup of this directory.
Connect your tools when you need them
A first Text → Display graph works without an AI provider account. To add an agent, install its tool or configure its access as described in the relevant block documentation. Provider subscriptions, permissions, and costs remain separate from the Bloxmith license.
